Maia Brown

Communications Coordinator

Maia Brown is the Communications Coordinator at the National Women's History Museum. Her focuses include external communications and marketing, events and outreach, and digital media. Before joining NWHM, she worked to find innovative ways to engage and educate audiences in her prior roles at Planned Parenthood and Instagram. Her primary goal is for her work to always be accessible, informative, and inclusive.

Maia holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Sociology from Northwestern University, where she also minored in gender studies. There, she gained advocacy and organizing experience as a founding member of the university's Accessibility and Inclusion committee, and a peer educator for Social Justice Education. She has also spent over ten years volunteering for women's organizations, from her local women's shelter to the Women's Global Education Project.
