Hannah was somewhat famous for her time as told in the book The Early Settlers of Colrain, Mass. It was her custom to attend town meetings, and if affairs were not conducted as she thought proper, or seemed to encroach upon her rights, she protested against the action of the town and had it placed on record; and some of the protests of Hannah Kateley, the original Women's Righter of Colrain, may be found in the old record book today. Her father is my seventh great-grandfather. While looking for information this came to my attention and I found it fascinating considering the time.
