Rev. George R. DeMass

Oswego Town Historian

The Rev. George R. DeMass, Oswego Town Historian, was  born and raised in the Town of Oswego. He is an ordained Presbyterian Church USA minister now retired, having served parishes in Buffalo, New York and Baltimore, Maryland. He is now living in his boyhood home. He was first appointed Town Historian in 1960 when in high school, and now over 50 years later, he again holds the position. He is considered a leading authority on Dr. Mary Edwards Walker.
