NWHM Participates in Local National History Day

The Museum’s Manager of Adult Outreach, Kenna Howat, participated as a judge in National History Day’s regional competition for Virginia’s District 5 at Mount Vernon High School. National History Day is a project-based history competition for students in grades 6 through 12. Students compete in an individual or group project in one of five categories: historical paper, website, documentary, exhibit, or performance. This year’s theme is Conflict and Compromise. The Museum awards a prize to the entry that best addresses women’s history. Regional winners will compete in state competitions and the national competition will take place in June at the University of Maryland in College Park.
