After breaking racial barriers as the first African American to win a Grand Slam tennis title, Gibson made history again by becoming the first African American woman to join the LPGA Tour in 1964. This talk explores her early life, the many challenges she faced as well as those who championed her participation, her groundbreaking achievements, and her lasting impact on professional sports.
