Larry Kaplan co-authored memoirs with three New York City Ballet dancers: Dancing for Balanchine with Merrill Ashley; Prodigal Son with Edward Villella; and Maria Tallchief: America’s Prima Ballerina with Maria Tallchief.

He has been a unit publicist in the motion picture industry for close to 50 years, working on films directed by Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, Joel and Ethan Coen, and many others.

His play, Stone Canyon Road, had a reading at New York’s Dramatists’ Guild. Another play, Forty Summers, was read at Primary Stages in New York with Patricia Clarkson.
