Lucas Garcia Leon

Born in Madrid, from a very early age, Lucas danced to music whenever there was a chance. At the age of 9, he started his ballet training at the Real Conservatorio Profesional de Danza Mariemma in Madrid. After graduating, Lucas left his home and moved to Amsterdam where he joined the Dutch National Ballet Academy in 2021 under the artistic direction of Ernst Meisner. He had dancing opportunities with the Dutch National Ballet taking part in some of their biggest productions: “The Sleeping Beauty” and “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King.” Lucas has also performed a pas de deux by David Dawson and choreographies by William Forsythe, Ernst Meisner and Didy Veldman. After receiving his Associate Degree diploma in Amsterdam in 2023, he decided to join the Joffrey Ballet as a Studio Company member under the direction of Oğulcan Borova. Since his arrival, he has danced “Kettentanz,” choreography by the co-founder of the Joffrey Ballet, Gerald Arpino, for the Arpino Centennial Celebration in Chicago.
