Michon Boston is a writer (New York Times, Washington Post Magazine, Washington CityPaper) and media impact producer who works with documentary and narrative films to raise awareness and inspire action on the critical concerns of our times. As a Special Projects Manager for Firelight Media, Michon mentored director/producer Hazel Gurland-Pooler and Storming Caesars Palace through the Impact Campaign Fund, and later wrote the film's in-depth Discussion Guide for PBS' Independent Lens. Michon is the co-host of a new podcast, Historical Drama with The Boston Sisters, which invites makers, writers and other guests for conversations about historical drama series and films as windows to the past, and mirrors of the present. Michon is the author of “Iola’s Letter: The Memphis Crusade of Ida B. Wells,” a stage play about the anti-lynching newspaper woman and activist, Ida B. Wells. She also received a National Endowment for the Humanities grant to research the history of Black women who attended Oberlin in the 19th and 20th centuries. The project papers are included in the collections of the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture (New York Public Library).
