Deborah Brittain
A proud graduate of Howard University and Honorary Trustee of Simmons University, Deborah Brittain is a distinguished leader whose lifelong commitment to service spans education, health, social justice, the arts, and family advocacy. She is the Past President and Chairman of the Board of tthe Association of Junior Leagues International and formerly served as Executive Vice President of Preod LLC, the executive search firm founded by her late husband.

Her civic engagement includes service with the National Council of Negro Women, the Northern Virginia Coalition of 100 Black Women, the Junior League of Northern Virginia, the Princeton Committee of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, and Drexel University’s Vision 2020: Equity Insight initiative.
Deborah is a Golden Life Member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, a Life Member of the NAACP, and an Alumna Member of The Links, Incorporated. Within The Links, she served eight years as Associate Dean and four years as Lead Dean of the Scott Hawkins Leadership Institute. She currently serves as Senior Faculty Advisor for the organization’s Leadership Development Programs.
She also contributes her expertise as a member of the Board of Visitors for the Chadwick A. Boseman College of Fine Arts at Howard University, as a BuildStrong Trustee for the Center for Youth & Family Advocacy, and as an active member of the historic Mount Olive Baptist Church in Arlington, Virginia—her hometown.
Since 2013, Deborah has managed private scholarships in partnership with the Arlington NAACP, the Progressive Life Center in Washington, D.C., and the Women of the Dream program in Camden, New Jersey.
Deborah has one child, Lindsey Brittain Collins, a visual artist living in New York City; a son‐in-law, William Henry Rougeau Collins, a business executive in New York; and two young grandsons, Xavier and Alexander.
