2020 National Women’s History Museum Summer Education Fellow Award

Description

The National Women’s History Museum is pleased to announce the opening of the 2020 NWHM Summer Education Fellow Award. This program is open to K-12 history or social studies teachers for approximately eight weeks during the summer of 2020.

The Fellow will oversee the National Women’s History Museum’s “For Educators, By Educator’s” digital learning resources project. “For Educators, By Educators” engages social studies teachers from across the nation who are eager to help create digital classroom-ready resources on women’s history in support of the Museum. The resources, which correspond to topics from the Museum’s 2018 “Where are the Women?” study of national social study standards on women’s history are digitized and made accessible to the public on the Museum’s continuously growing compendium of digital learning resources found at www.womenshistory.org.

The Fellow will review submitted lesson plans to ensure that they support the C3 Framework for Social Studies Standards, are historically accurate, and meet the high standards of the Museum’s learning resource offerings.

This position is a virtual position. Applicants must be available to work part-time (15-20 hours per week) for 8 weeks, beginning in late June 2020 (dates are flexible), and must have reliable access to the Internet as well as a working laptop with camera and microphone.
