2022-2024 NWHM Virtual Predoctoral Fellowship Awards in Women’s History and Gender Studies

The National Women’s History Museum (NWHM) is pleased to announce the opening of a two-year Virtual Predoctoral Fellowship Award in Women’s History and a second two-year Virtual Predoctoral Fellowship Award in Gender Studies for the 2022-2024 academic years. Applicants should have a strong interest in women’s history, public history, or gender studies and the applications of these fields outside of academia.

Functioning within the Education Department as a research associate and providing programmatic and curatorial support to the Museum’s virtual education programs and online presence, the awardees will assist in the development of content for the Museum’s compendium of online learning resources, actively participate in associated virtual programming, and respond to research inquiries and interview requests from students, scholars, and the general public.

Qualifications
Candidates must be currently enrolled students in good standing in a relevant PhD program in the humanities, OR a recent graduate from a relevant Master’s degree-earning program. The predoctoral awardees, whose work at the NWHM may not necessarily correspond directly with his or her coursework or dissertation research, will work remotely for two academic years between the dates of September 7, 2022 and May 24, 2024 and will receive a stipend of $10,000 each year. Fellows traditionally take the summer months of June, July, and August off from their duties at the Museum and resume work the Tuesday after Labor Day the following September.

Due to the remote nature of these positions, applicants must have a working laptop with a microphone, camera, and reliable Internet connection and be able to attend regular bi-weekly team meetings scheduled during business hours in Eastern Time Zone.
